There was something about older drum machines and synths that made them sound punchier and more pleasing than today’s clinically perfect sounds.
"That Thing” is a multi effects processor that was designed to get you "That Thing” missing from digitally perfect tracks today. It features a beautiful wide and deep chorus section great to thicken anything from synths, vocals, bass, pads drums and other sounds. The soundscape generator features 50 samples of old vinyl players, tape machines, old radio, tube gear, atmospheres, ambiences etc. These ad to your sound with an envelop follower, so the sounds add in only when signal is present and move, and pan with the level of the signal. Easily change the pitch of the soundscape to make it work with any audio you pass through it. The plugin features a bit crusher and distortion that emulates the sound of vintage drum machines giving you a choice of 8/12/16 and 24 bit audio. There is also an analog Low Cut and High Cut filter section designed to shape your sounds further. A wet and dry fader is included to blend in the effects with your original audio.

TAL-U-NO-LX is a complete rewritten emulation of the popular hardware with a new engine and GUI. Up to date zero feedback delay filters and carefully calibrated controls make this synth a good replacement for the analog device with all the advantages software plugins have. As an addition, the TAL-U-NO-LX also supports portamento and different filter LFO waveforms and some more useful features.
An arpeggiator with different sync modes and hold function is also included. A very fast envelope with a smooth roll-off, emulated inaccuracy and a very smooth filter sound gives this synth the typical sound. The synth was calibrated after a hardware device that's property of TAL.

Forgotten Keys FK9 Hammond Auto-Vari 28 V.4.2 KONTAKT
This Hammond AutoVari rhythm unit was originally built into an old old Hammond Dolphin organ from the 1970s. Although it only had 7 rhythm buttons, each one had 4 variations so there were 28 rhythms in all. The unit itself included circuitry and controls for the organs auto-accompaniment section but no circuit diagrams or schematics were available to see how to access it.
The FK9 includes isolated samples of the 7 analogue sounds of the AutoVari. Each sound has been sampled 8 times and is chosen randomly within Kontakt. They are, or course, accessible via a keyboard or DAW sequencer also. The sounds are in 24-bit 44.1KHz wav format.
Each of the 28 rhythm patterns have been re-created for Kontakt. They are not sampled loops, rather they are sequences that trigger the individual sound samples when needed. This is how a real drum machine works, only here we use samples instead of a sound generator circuit.
The Setup tab offers greater control over how the FK9 sounds and operates. There are volume, pan and tune controls for each sound. Incoming MIDI notes can be mapped to any rhythm. Random tune and volume controls add a little human element to the sounds.
Here’s what the AutoVari looked like inside. There was no case of course as it was enclosed by the organ cabinet. Some of the controls you see here were for the organs auto-accompaniment section.
