Wavelore Brush Kit v1.0 KONTAKT-VON.G
The Wavelore Brush Kit contains 208 samples from a 5-piece drumset. The kit consists of a kick drum, snare drum, hihats, and two rack toms, a ride cymbal, a crash cymbal, and a splash cymbal. The drumset was mic'd with a pair of overhead microphones, and the kick, snare, were also mic'd "close". In addition to all this, a microphone was placed in an adjacent room to capture some ambiance for the kick drum, hi-hats, and toms. In this virtual rendition, you can switch these mics on and off, as well as adjust their relative levels and panning for each part of the drum kit.
Wavelore XpanDrum KONTAKT-VON.G
Wavelore Xpan-Drum ($89.99) is our newest product for Native Instruments Kontakt. Featuring up to 16-way round-robin samples, Xpan-Drum is a collection of four sampled hand drums, each expandable to as many as four drums per MIDI channel. Each drum uses extensive Kontakt scripting to allow user-definable humanization of the ensemble's performance, including tuning, timing, dynamics, panning, and volume of each "virtual" layer. In addition to these features, we've added intelligent round-robin (surpassing the effectiveness of Kontakt's default behavior), voice conservation for efficient performance, keyswitching for realtime ensemble size control, and two "repetition keys" for fast repetitions without having to strike the same key repeatedly.
Wavelore Clavichord v1.0 KONTAKT-VON.G
The Wavelore Clavichord ($179.99) (Kontakt 4 and higher) is the world's first deeply sampled and programmed virtual clavichord. This rare and beautiful keyboard instrument was a favorite of renaissance and barouque composers, as well as a popular practice instrument for organists (it's extremely quiet!), though it fell into relative obscurity starting around the early nineteenth century. In the twentieth century, it's best known, perhaps, in the form of its electronic offspring, the Hohner Clavinet, which we all know to be one the funkyiest sounding instruments on record. See Stevie Wonder's "Superstition" for a well known example.
The clavichord is considered by some to be the most intimate of keyboard instruments, mostly due to the fact that the player's fingers are more directly in contact with the strings; The most unique aspect of its construction is that it allows the player to rock his or her finger on a key, producing a vibrato effect, or "bebung"...poly aftertouch well before its time!
The Wavelore Clavichord faithfully reproduces all the defining and unique capabilites of its acoustic namesake, while also adding certain capabilities. See below for full feature list.
6 velocity layers, with 8-way polyphonic (true) round robin programming for all notes and release samples, allowing convincing performance of any passage...trills are especially fun :)
Intimate malleable sound, close mic'ed samples and stereo impulse reponses for enhanced cabinet resonance.
Characteristic release samples, accurately reflecting tangent buzz - adjustable in volume with carefully programmed decay-matching (so release samples don't "pop").
Configurable Keynoise samples for all notes, including a wide array of control options for performance detection. Of course, you can also just shut 'em off!
A dozen temperaments suitable for modern and period music: Equal, Pythagorean, and a variety of meantone and circulating temperaments.
Optional octave/unison string coupling with fine de-tuning control over each string of each key. This feature also allows the use and adjustment of "tangent slope", or the tendency of either member of a string pair to sound later than the other, based on the angle or "slope" of the tangent's edge. Together these controls can greatly enrich the instrument's sound, or even be used to simulate an instrument in varying stages of disrepair!
Ability to apply vibrato to only the last note played using an assignable MIDI controller, and including optional randomization of vibrato width and speed for a more "human" effect than typical LFO-based vibratos. Also includes an optional multiscript that allows the use of polyphonic aftertouch for true "bebung" technique.
"Electric" or "Acoustic" mode: Apply a variety of cabinet or amp resonances, as well as optional, keyswitchable wah, distortion, compression, and reverb.
MIDI Learn mode for all assignable controls.
A feature-rich, dynamic performance view with nine pages of clearly organized and intuitive controls for tweaking the instrument to your taste and style.
Carefully chosen factory settings to allow unsurpassed out-of-the-box playability.
A detailed 22-page user guide .pdf including a quick start guide and detailed info on operation.
Black Rooster Audio The Canary WiN/MAC
Black Rooster Audio has announced the release of The Canary, a free effect plug-in that adds attack and sustain to drum shells.
The goal was to create a Plugin, that gives you control over some basic parameters of the drum signal, that you may have lost during the recording process (or they probably haven‘t been there anyway), such as a tone, attack, sustain and some very basic filtering, which defines what is the natural sound of the shell.
As musicians and experienced sound enthusiasts we understand the recording process, where it is often a question of the right equipment, time and money to achieve quality. Especially when it comes to the drums. And who doesn‘t know the drummer that has some good (or bad) gear, perfectly damped to sound nice on stage or in his or her practicing garage, sounding like hitting a card-box. Whenever it comes to recording you might loose up to 80% of your tone defining sustain and the attack has been cut down to.
The Canary is here to help you, synthetically adding those missing parameters after the damage is done, allowing you to „tune" your drums in a song-conducive manner, which means that you can easily adjust it to the songs basic key.
And as long as your single drum instruments are on separate tracks, you can add the Canary effect on each single shell, making your Bass Drum sound voluminous and punchy, your Toms sound full and precise and your Snare sound crispy and massy.
The Canary features
Add the right tone to your drums.
Make them sound crisp and full.
Get that extra "punch”.
Suitable for all shells in your set.

Clean up vocals
Got a great vocal take but you don't like the sound of the room? No Problem!

Multi Transient coupled with a synth can be used to make even more exciting sounds,
using the 2x, Clip and Sustain options can add new and interesting textures to your sounds.
Audio Assault XCTR VST RETAiL
XCTR is a multi band harmonic exciter based on our Head Crusher saturation.
Harmonic exciters can give a shine to certain frequencies in the mix.
They can be used on drums to make the cymbals shine, bring up the kick drum on a stereo bus, bring some life back into a dull instrument, or even some shine to the whole mix.
