This enchanting little instrument is a simple 8-string fretless zither, roughly 12 x 20 inches in size. Zithers are a broad family of hollow-bodied string instruments common throughout all of Europe and Asia. Variants range from the dulcimer to the Koto, with countless other flavors unique to each region and culture. Common to each of them is the arrangement of multiple strings over a neck-less sound box. The oldest known variant of the zither family dates back to 4th century B.C China, while new additions continue to spring up to this day.

Mystic is the second in the Photosynthesis line of Kontakt libraries, an ambient cello library aimed at film/game composers, producers, and musicians who need otherworldly pads and soundscapes, unique cello articulations, and creative instrument effects.

Mystic is derived entirely from nearly 6 hours of cello recordings, processed and twisted into over 120 beautiful Kontakt instruments. Alongside the processed instruments are raw solo cello articulations. This isn't a standard cello library, so there's no legato or staccato patch, but rather unique playing styles like artificial harmonics, harmonic tremolos, sustained ricochets, sul ponticello, harmonic glissandos, and more

Mystic includes 127 Kontakt .nki instruments, and a 2.25GB library of samples in .wav format (sound designers rejoice!). It's powered by the free Photosynthesis Engine, which allows extensive control over shaping the sounds, and is designed to make importing your own samples and creating your own instruments easy.

Soundiron Questionably Barbershop (KONTAKT) Soundiron Questionably Barbershop (KONTAKT)
Questionably Barbershop is a simple 4-piece male vocal ensemble, crafted in the style of an old timey Barbershop Quartet. Featuring the humble vocal talents of our own Mike Peaslee, Gregg Stephens and Spencer Nunamaker, this library offers basic chromatic sustains and staccato articulations, improvised scat and bebop phrases and even a couple of classic Americana folk song construction kits that are broken down line-by-line with each vocal part directly accessible in several different root keys. From a deep booming bass to a soaring high tenor falsetto, Questionably Barbershop gives you easy 4-part harmony in a box.

Each one of our singers (Mike: Tenor Lead, Gregg: Baritone, Spencer: Bass and ‘Mikey’: Tenor Falsetto) performed 3 types of sustains and staccatos: Doo, Lah and Woh. Using our custom GUI controls, these 3 different sounds can also act as pure Oo, Ah and Oh vowel sounds, with adjustable durations and attack shaping. Our advanced scripting gives you automatic 4-part harmony voicing in the Ensemble Sustains and Staccatos presets, ensuring that you always hear the Lead first, the Bass in his appropriate range and the Tenor for those piercing high notes! And for a big male chorus sound, you can select the "Unison” mode for all four voices over the whole key range. We even give you Auto-pan feature to intelligently spread the singers over the stereo field for a nice wide sound.

The Scat ’N Bebop phrase section includes 356 improvised phrases, with real-time tempo-synching and time-stretching. Phrases are included in the root keys of C, E, and G# with easy transposition to other keys. You’ll also find our DSP Rack panel, with multi-effects, compression, EQ, amp/speaker simulation and convolution reverb, with dozens of our favorite rooms, halls, chambers, cathedrals and FX impulses.

PureMagnetik MalletPak One MULTiFORMAT PureMagnetik MalletPak One MULTiFORMAT
MalletPak One is a collection of 13 multisampled marimba instruments. It was recorded in a reflective room with a pair of Shure KSM32s in an ORTF configuration to capture the wide stereo field of the instrument. Four different mallet types were used with multiple hits for round-robin triggering and several velocity layers each.

A violin bow recorded for each marimba bar creates an eerily textured patch with infinite sustain. A hybrid patch combining mallet strikes with the bowed texture allows you to mix between articulations. The Logic, Kontakt and Ableton versions include a massive program that includes all 4 mallet types for easy switching during a performance or recording. Additionally, there are several synthetic patches using the marimba as sound source to create unique new musical tones.

MalletPak was produced in collaboration with artist Richard Lainhart.

Best Service Extended Classical Choir Keyswitched KONTAKT Best Service Extended Classical Choir Keyswitched KONTAKT
This is a custom crafted version of the choir library, heavily modified to be more useful in a modern sampler like Kontakt. It's an old library (very hard to find now, too) but extremely useful because it has consonants sampled individually (such as T, P, K, and Tzz) as well as uncommon singable consonants (such as Mmmm, Rrrr, and Zzzz). It is best used to "punch up" your favorite choir by overlaying syllables and consonants to help enunciate whatever your choir is already singing. The flexibility of this library to create any word you want is pretty good, just add your own reverb to blend it in with your choir library of choice.

Up to now, people have always simply done some kind of automatic conversion from Akai CD to Kontakt, which technically works, but the library simply isn't very user friendly because you end up with 100's of .nki files with parts of an instrument spread among several .nki files. Even worse it's usually hard to figure out which instrument to use because some of them are left or right channel only, or mono converted, or a short looped version to save memory, or any of a dozen other things that are simply a waste of time in a modern sampler. This particular version was painstakingly created (by hand!) over two days in order to eliminate all that confusion, and was carefully planned out to be the most user friendly version available; About 95% of what you will need when using this library has been placed into a single .nki that has been setup with keyswitches. Going even further, a custom script was created to display the keyswitch layout while you're using the instrument so that you never get lost or have trouble finding what you need.

Additionally, everything has been compressed to .ncw so the footprint is smaller, and a .nicnt + wallpaper have been created so that you can simply add the library to Kontakt without the hassle of manually creating your own library file. If you are in the habit of creating your own library files it is recommended to make sure that the SNPID number doesn't conflict with something else you've already added into your library.

Here's your new sandbox full of toys! 88 instruments are waiting for you inside the main Kontakt patch. All samples have been recorded very close with high-end equipment (Nagra LB, KM185, Blue Dragonfly, AT4050, Rode NT4) in high definition (88.2kHz 24bit) in dry rooms.

Every sample is 'alive' and dynamic due to 10 random robins for every recording! Our GUI gives you access to a lot of transformations and modulations, all based on velocity. You can set filters, pitch, stereo effects and panning, ADSR envelope, play in reverse, offset and volume sound by sound.

You can choose to use random robins or not. Moreover, we added some great global effects on a second tab with a transient designer, EQ, flanger, chorus, phaser, tape saturator, lo-fi (bit crusher) and reverb.

• 5 main patches which are presets for the whole sandbox.
• 32 chromatic instruments
• 19 sound design patches made from the same sample pool!

The Sound Designer patches are unique little instruments in their own right. We will try and produce some examples of these as soon as we can.

NOTE: For the full retail version of Kontakt or above only. Will only work in 'Demo' mode if you have the free version of Kontakt Player.
