Wavesfactory BlackToms 2.0 KONTAKT
Wavesfactory BlackToms 2.0 KONTAKT

BlackToms 2.0 is a percussion sample library for NI Kontakt 4.2.4 and above.
It features 3 sets of drum toms: high, mid and low.

In this new version we added up to 21 tom layers, new script, interface and 2 microphone positions.

Use the "sub" knob to add a sub-octave layer for a deep taiko sound. The goal of this library is to offer the best sounding epic toms recorded in a dry studio. Most of the epic percussion libraries on the market have embedded in them the reverb of the hall they were recorded in, reverb that you can't get rid of and, if you want to use your own reverb you have to apply reverb to a reverbered signal which is not a good idea. But you won't have this problem with BlackToms 2.0.

Tech Info

Stereo files, 44.1KHz 24bit.
From solo up to 21 layers.

The latest installment in our percussion section boasts over 6GB of sample data, with maxed out (127) dynamic layers for full realism, and an extremely controllable sound and soundscape with various techniques. Epic Drums VST Library for Kontakt 4 (Full Version) and above - consisting of an ensemble of eight separately playable, differently pitched toms.

ARIA Sounds are proud to present "Surdos & Snares", a percussion ensemble consisting of three snares and three surdo drums, all placed in the displayed formation (screenshot below), and reproduced faithfully, so you can play these drums, and they will sound in these positions.

We have absolutely pushed the variation and authenticity to the limit with this library. There are 127 dynamic layers per hit/technique/key in these drums, which provides even more benefits than the obvious lack of repetition, or the dreaded "machine-gun effect".

Say you record/play in a performance with this instrument, and then possibly go into the MIDI data and tweak a few hits' dynamics to get the performance how you want it... and then decide the general feel needs to be either louder or quieter.

As there is a smooth gradient from bottom to top in terms of dynamic layers, dragging the entire velocity data of the track up and down will completely transform the performance, as opposed to just moving the MIDI data through a few dynamic layers, and primarily relying on simply lowering and raising the volume of certain samples. In our demo videos, you can see this in action.

The instrument is also compatible with both version 4 and 5 of Kontakt (the full version, not the free Kontakt Player - the paid version of Kontakt only), and comes with a close mic position, and main stage mic position.

Each drum has been played with varied techniques, including soft mallets, sticks, rims, hands, different brushes.

Click each of the drum icons on the interface to load and unload that particular drum. Unloaded drums will appear on the keyboard interface as black, and loaded drums with active samples will be shown as blue keys.

ARIA Sounds Colossal Toms KONTAKT DVDR ARIA Sounds Colossal Toms KONTAKT DVDR
ARIA Sounds are proud to present "Colossal Toms", an ensemble of eight separately playable toms, with tunings from large and deep to high. One of the things that really makes this library stand out, easy to use, and realistic, is that we tried to max out the velocity layers, so each hit has up to 127 different, separately recorded dynamics.

This means, on top of the fact that you virtually eliminate the problem of hearing one sample twice too soon, creating an artificial sound, but you can obtain extremely realistic performances. A loud section can be easily scaled down in dynamics, due to the fact that there are so many velocity layers - see the upcoming demos for examples of this.

The instrument is also compatible with both version 4 and 5 of Kontakt, and comes with a close mic position, and hall mic position. Each drum has been played with varied techniques, including soft mallets, sticks, sticks with newspaper on the drum, rims, hands, brushes etc.

Click each of the drum icons on the interface to load and unload that particular drum. Unloaded drums will appear on the keyboard interface as black, and loaded drums with active samples will be shown as blue keys.

Sonokinetic Berimbau KONTAKT Sonokinetic Berimbau KONTAKT
Sonokinetic’s Berimbau is based on over 200 samples of two traditional berimbau instruments from Brazil, one made of biriba wood and one made of fiberglass. The library can come in handy for making traditional Brazilian music, of course, but it can also work great for cinematic music and for spicing up synthetic percussion loops. The sounds are completely royalty and copyright free, however they are compressed to NCW format which is exclusive to Native Instruments Kontakt (there are no WAV files in the download pack). The library is not compatible with the free Kontakt Player, meaning that it will only work for fifteen minutes in the free version of Kontakt.

The customized user interface for Kontakt is quite simple but also very useful, providing direct access to three different microphone positions, quick tuning settings, a 3-band equalizer and the convolution reverb effect that is pre-loaded with a custom impulse response. Everything else is controlled directly via key switches. The download pack includes a user manual which explains how to control the round robin samples and get a natural sounding performance.
AudioThing Wood KONTAKT-MAGNETRiXX AudioThing Wood KONTAKT-MAGNETRiXX

Wood is an organic material, found in plants, and used for many purposes such as making musical instruments. Many wooden instruments are idiophones, instruments where the vibration of the material itself is the main source of the sound. Following this concept, Wood is a sample library made by sampling hits, collision or effects with wooden tools (sticks, claves, boards, drums, castanets, bowls and so on). The samples are then processed into different instruments ranging from tuned/untuned percussions, drum kits, hits/noises to sound textures and sound effects. Wood features 17 instruments and 4 multis using 278 stereo samples with many round robin and velocity layers. Four standard effects are accessible from the custom performance view: Saturation, Rotator, Delay and Reverb.

Beautiful Darabuka Drum Library V.1.1 Lite MiDi EXS24 KONTAKT Beautiful Darabuka Drum Library V.1.1 Lite MiDi EXS24 KONTAKT
This is a sample library of a beautiful Darabuka that I’ve received as a gift and thought it would make a great addition to use in my projects, especially since I’ve sampled certain articulations that I mostly use. This Darabuka was recorded with 4 dynamic layers per articulation and with 2 dynamic layers for the rolls. I haven’t recorded any RRs, but you’ll find that there are enough articulations and velocity layers to create a fairly realistic performance with it.

The Darabuka was captured in mono using the AKG 420 Perception microphone, which really brought out the clarity of the instrument while retaining the body. I’ve included a MIDI file performance using the instrument, which will give you an idea of how to use the instrument.

I’ll be further expanding on this instrument in the future by recording lots of Round Robins than I originally did, more articulations, and a couple more mic positions. In the meantime, please enjoy using this simple but articulate instrument!

Suspended Cymbals is a sample library for Kontakt 4 and above that features 5 premium crash cymbals with 5 articulations each, including:

Sustains.
Bells.
Side hits.
Modwheel controlled rolls.
Effects.

Recorded with 3 microphone positions, 4 velocity layers and 4 round robin. All samples normalized to 0db, resulting in 128 volume steps, giving a much natural sound and feel.

The best feature on the library is being able to control the roll intensity with the modwheel. No more time-fixed samples which are very hard to sync with your track. With Suspended Cymbals you can control or play the rolls yourself.

On the mixer section you can mix each microphone position and apply convolution reverb with any of the 30 provided impulses, highpass and lowpass filters and envelope with attack, hold and decay.
On the settings section you can control the volume of each articuation separately, round robin repetitions, dynamic range, muffling time, velocity curve and voicing.

The cymbals: Zildjian Custom Session Crash 16", Zildjian Avedis Custom 18", Zildjian Dark Medium Thin 18", Paiste Masters Dark Crash 18" and Istanbul Mehmet Traditional 18".
We want this library to become the go-to for suspended cymbals, you'll find everything you need. It won't go any better than this!
