In Brazil, the glass marimba was popularized by Brazilian instrumental group UAKTI. Its members have built hundreds of percussion instruments, among them the glass marimba to a greater extent. Two types of sticks were used, diversifying the textures and tones of the marimba. The library also explores chords, motifs and grooves to fully use in songs.

....:::: Sweet Sounds ::::....
Two kinds of sticks were used. The first has a velvety sound and a smooth attack. The second brings a brighter sound with more presence. No extended samples, each note has 8 velocities and all of them were separately sampled. More tone and performance.

Sonokinetic Cuica KONTAKT Sonokinetic Cuica KONTAKT
Typical Brazilian music is defined by a few distinctive sounds.

Cuica is one of those musical-culture-defining instruments, and we set out to capture this rarely sampled instrument with much finesse and dedication, offering it in two version; a higher Soprano sounding Cuica and a heavy and loud bass Cuica. Covering different playing techniques and including original Cuica performances, this sample library sides among the unique ones in the Sonokinetic sampling library collection. Three microphone positions are available for customising your sound. The instrument is recorded in our renowned studio in Hilversum The Netherlands matching the acoustic fingerprint of our other sampled Brazilian percussion instruments.

Cuíca or "kuweeca", is a Brazilian friction drum with a large pitch range, produced by changing tension on the head of the drum. Cuíca is Portuguese for a type of small opossum which is known to make a high-pitched sound. It is most often used in samba music. The tone it produces has a high-pitched squeaky timbre. It has been called a 'laughing gourd' due to this sound. Many also claim that the cuica has a "monkey" sound.

With a beautifully crafted themed user interface designed by Ryo Ishido, we are very proud and pleased to present to you the next product in our traditional music/cultural heritage line, "Cuica” - Rare Traditional Brazilian Percussion.

Sonokinetic ‘sticks’ with its unbeatable pricing module and high quality sampling, we are really happy with how Cuica turned out and we hope you will share in our enthusiasm for this instrument and it brings you a broad smile every time you play it.

We are proud to release "Cuica”, delivering a realistic sounding Brazilian traditional music composing tool at your fingertips.
Sonokinetic Berimbau KONTAKT Sonokinetic Berimbau KONTAKT
Sonokinetic’s Berimbau is based on over 200 samples of two traditional berimbau instruments from Brazil, one made of biriba wood and one made of fiberglass. The library can come in handy for making traditional Brazilian music, of course, but it can also work great for cinematic music and for spicing up synthetic percussion loops. The sounds are completely royalty and copyright free, however they are compressed to NCW format which is exclusive to Native Instruments Kontakt (there are no WAV files in the download pack). The library is not compatible with the free Kontakt Player, meaning that it will only work for fifteen minutes in the free version of Kontakt.

The customized user interface for Kontakt is quite simple but also very useful, providing direct access to three different microphone positions, quick tuning settings, a 3-band equalizer and the convolution reverb effect that is pre-loaded with a custom impulse response. Everything else is controlled directly via key switches. The download pack includes a user manual which explains how to control the round robin samples and get a natural sounding performance.
